What is Light &Salt Network?

Light and Salt Network commenced its community contribution activities in September 2023. Following the Noto earthquake on New Year's Day 2024, we are an organisation dedicated to reaching out to local residents, responding to community needs, sharing compassion, and forging bonds.

Our history

To receive a vision

Step out from your local Christian community and church into the wider community, to the most marginalized people (single-parent families,

Now is the time to put Jesus' love into practice by meeting the needs of the elderly, those who have lost their jobs due to COVID-19, and others. The idea of opening a 50-yen onigiri shop begins to emerge.

Naming

The group name "Koe'n Network" will be decided. On September 29, the first draft of the logo will be designed, and missionary reports will be written to share vision needs in Chinese, English, and Japanese.

About our logo

1) The triangle shape in the middle is an “onigiri” (rice ball)

2) On top of the rice ball is the lid of a jar of salt, sprinkled with salt, so it is slanted.

3) the jar is also an light bulb that is inverted.

4) The line in the middle of the rice ball represents the image of connecting or linking, and the three circles represent light in the Chinese character for kanji.

5) The salt jar is also an upside-down light bulb. The yellow colouring signifies its radiance.

The meaning of “Light &Salt Network” is inspired by the Bible's Matthew 5:13-16 and Colossians 4:6.
